Ford’s F-Series is considered to be one of the most popular truck ranges in the United States of America, with a history that dates back to 1948 and includes fourteen generations up to the present.   The beginning of this iconic series can be traced back to 1948 when the first F-Series was introduced, marking a significant shift in Ford’s automotive offerings by separating its car and truck businesses.   Referred to as the Ford Bonus-Built at the time, the F-Series was initially available as a two-door pickup or a four-door panel truck, quickly earning a reputation for its durability and practicality.   This particular vehicle is a 1949 Ford F-3 302ci that has been restored and customized in Texas, with only 75 miles driven since the restoration.   The designation “F-3” indicates that it is a ¾ ton truck with a heavy-duty rating.   If you have a fondness for classic Ford trucks, then this 1949 Ford F-3 might be of interest to you.    

Ford invested a significant amount of money in the research and development of the cab for the first-generation F-Series in order to provide a more comfortable and spacious experience compared to their competitors.   The 1949 Ford F-3 302ci showcases this cab design in an attractive blue color with white-wall tires and gunmetal-gray off-road style rims.   The lights and chrome elements are in good condition, with new door sill scuff plates also added.   Inside, the interior features body-colored panels and brown trim, including a brown bench seat and steering wheel.   The steering wheel is connected to a modern steering column with tilt and telescoping capabilities.   Both the steering wheel and horn button have been replaced, along with a driver-side window vent during the restoration process.   A period-look modern Ford radio is mounted in the dashboard.    

The 1949 Ford F-3 302ci is powered by a 302ci V8 small-block crate engine paired with a 5-speed T5 manual transmission.   Modifications to the pressure plate, flywheel, and pedals have been made.   Upgrades include a new oil pressure gauge, electric cooling fan, and an additional fan for improved cooling.   The vehicle features IFS front suspension with a modified transmission mount and front disc brakes for better braking performance.   The crate engine comes complete with pulleys, carb, headers, water pump, fuel pump, alternator, distributor, plugs, wires, belts, and hoses.   A dual exhaust system enhances engine performance and produces a satisfying V8 sound.
